Iconic Brands Playboy and Alpha Industries Release
Limited-Edition Vandy-1 Military Flight Jacket
Proceeds of the Exclusive Collection to Benefit Warrior Flight Team
Beverly Hills, CA and Chantilly, VA (March 3, 2016) Playboy Enterprises and American heritage outerwear brand, Alpha Industries, have collaborated for a limited-edition military flight jacket style, Vandy-1 MA-1. This exclusive style pays homage to Playboy’s 60 year-long affiliation with the U.S. military and pays tribute to the Navy’s Air Test and Evaluation Squadrons (VX-4, VX-5 and VX-9.) Available now, the Vandy-1 MA-1 can be purchased from www.AlphaIndustries.com. All profits will benefit the Warrior Flight Team, a non-profit organization, funding grants and scholarships for wounded veterans pursuing post-service careers in aviation and other fields.
“Since Playboy launched in 1953, our iconic Rabbit Head logo has been associated with military units in all branches of the U.S. military, including the VX fighter squadrons, where it was adorned on the tails of each fighter jet,” said Scott Killian, Playboy’s Chief Brand Officer. “This very special jacket is the flagship offering for a whole series of products which pay tribute to our historic association with the U.S military which we plan to roll out in the coming months.”
“Partnering with an equally iconic heritage brand like Playboy gives Alpha Industries the opportunity to reach even more fans of military heritage with an exclusive item,” noted Mike Cirker, CEO of Alpha Industries. “We know this style will resonate across the board to help bring even more awareness to a great cause with the Warrior Flight Team.”
Warrior Flight Team is a 501c(3) non-profit organization made up of volunteers that are aviation enthusiasts and business leaders working hard to create opportunities for wounded warriors and their families. The Warrior Flight Team travels around the country to airshows to promote their mission, flying an L-39 fighter jet called the Vandy-1 which features Playboy’s Bunny head logo on its tail.
